The CIWT is an individual pool style tournament hosted at Conner High School (NKY) in which matches are maximized for each wrestler. We get out of the gym at a decent hour, have a full hospitality room, and give awards for individuals as well as the top 2 teams at the end. In a time in which entry fees are getting more and more expensive, our entry fee is only 150$. I hope to have 10-14 teams from KY, OH, and IN. It is a pool tournament that is formulated to get wrestlers as many matches as possible. The entry fee is 175$ which is very low by today's standards, we will have awards for 1st - 4th placers as well as team awards for the champion and runner up and a most outstanding wrestler award. The tournament typically concludes around 4-5pm so we get done fairly early as well. Full hospitality room included. Currently committed teams are: South Oldham Greenon(OH) Lafayette Taylor County Great Crossing St. Bernard (OH) West Carter has also been added. Coaches, Conner High School in Hebron is looking for teams for our long running CIWT on JAnuary 8th 2022. The tournament is in pool format to maximize matches for all the wrestlers. Trophies will be presented for 1st - 4th placers as well as team trophies for champ and runner up. Most outstanding wrestler will also be recognized. The product we received wasn’t bad if you ignore the fact that several high quality wrestlers were missing. And also the fact that the khsaa boys basketball tournament will be held at Rupp while we were in a high school gymnasium. Change won’t happen for us as a community if we continue to be easily impressed and “thankful” for the scraps we get. These kids work too hard and for what? To not get a chance? Being from region 6 I strongly favor the 32 man bracket because wrestling in our state isn’t in an advanced enough state to cut out opportunities for kids because they are in a tougher region than others.
