Thats the lack of integrity. I believe some states are not allowing forfiets to count in state tournament seeding.

I believe you need to always seed top 6 in a 16 man bracket. Like mentioned above seedings can determine a tourney championship. This is a team sport, will always be a team sport. There will always be discussion in seeding meetings. Just using track is lazy. Not accurate in most cases. Every weekend there's kids getting beat with a 25-1 record by kids 12-7. Records do not always accurately define just how good a kid is. Head to head, common opponents. Record should be one of the last criteria. Most of all integrity and common sense should be used by the the coaches. Integrity is the practice of being honest and showing a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values

It's all about competition! Everyone gets focused on in state competition. Realize this is much more to some of these kids. It could be an opportunity to go to college . They may not have an opportunity otherwise. Get your kids the best comp you can. Find opponents thats capable of defeating your kids. Challenge your kids weekly. The worse you can do as a coach is never challenge your kids. Dr Baker these forums can become like a drunk driver. Never know what turn it may take. haha

it's not about crying!!!!! It's what could really be good for wrestling in the state of KY. Everyone loves good competition. It would bring excitement. But, your coach does what he feels is the best choice for his kids. He knows his athletes better than anyone. So I see both sides of the coin.

Wrestling is a team sport without doubt. Let's keeping building teams, making things more competitive. This can be accomplished by helping one another. It's called respect. There is very little exsist in other sports. Everyone thats been involved in wrestling for any period of time knows the amount of effort required. Therefore, you earn that respect. 30-0 or 0-30 you work your a$$ off. Wrestling community understands LOVE it
