take em to the mat

Has there ever been a discussion regarding assessment of the officials? This will asure the best officials the state has to offer will be on the mat at state. The kids have to earn the right, official should as well. Simply send out a list of all officials interested in officiating state tournament series. Coaches can rank officials performances. Based on knowledge, professionalism, maturity, experience and over all ability under fire. Coaches will only critique those they have been exposed to. Opinions please.

Many big schools struggle filling weight classes. As you, I like them setting up weight classes for the girl/woman division. Good step in the right direction.

I wouldn't care if they change the weight classes. I just don't see any advantage in doing so. I've heard coaches over the many many years I've been involved in wrestling, Claim it will cut down on cutting weight. Not buying that. "14 weight classes only help so called big schools". Perhaps!! I don't think so. Good programs are just that, good programs. If it were up to me add the coveted 2lbs and go. 108,114 and so on. That's my 7 cent opinion inflation ya know.

Be sure to keep that near elbow pointed straight out. Creates great pressure. Keep opponents wrist tucked by his rib cage. Comes up to high it could become illegal.

halfhalfhalf got to give you props for your name. How many times have you been at a meet and turned around when someone yells that. Also great drills you threw out there. Nike Man great ideas!! You put him through some rough drills. I would throw in some shadow drills. action/reaction Back to level change. This has become a lost art for most. I despise seeing kids diving for ankles and trying to work their way back to good position. Against quality opponents you won't recover from that shot. Great suggestions gentlemen

Does any of you old folks remember this meet?? Up by Chicago, ILL. I competed there in 1978. Several different countries were there. Anyone??????
