This bracket will be made tonight. Can’t wait to see how this seeding will play out! Lol
-
Pool 2 is going to be a grinder! I bet unseeded Harrison Co makes it out though
-
If one of the criteria is winning percentage, and your team is undefeated, it doesn’t matter if you beat someone that another team lost to. You still have a better winning percentage.

That has happened to me a lot this season. ER visits and MRI’s are friggin’ expensive! Lol. -
I haven’t been a part of middle school wrestling for a few years now, but it sounds like to me that having 5 Regions is a huge problem. Obviously it’s too late this season, but this needs to be addressed. Either go back to 4 Regions taking the top 4 finishers, or go to 8 Regions and only take the top 2. Just make the new 8 Regions the old 8 Districts. Having pigtail rounds at State just doesn’t sound right.

I would go to Frankfort and checkout the Capital City Classic. Only about 20-25 minutes from Lexington.

Thank you.

CJ Cardwell 12th grade Woodford Co is out for the rest of the season. Multiple shoulder injuries, time for surgery. -
Lol! Rider is definitely ranked on the high school rankings. He’s a hammer no matter what weight. Check the 132 rankings. The biggest middle school kid I’ve seen since Mark Hall...around that same weight. He will be a monster to deal with in the future.

Definitely a bit of bad luck for CJ this season. The kid looked great over the summer. Fortunately, this isn’t the first time in his life that he has faced adversity, and it definitely won’t be the last. Whether or not he is able to return to the mat, he has already learned a lot of the lessons that wrestling has to offer. Sometimes, the better guy doesn’t win. Sometimes, you outwork everyone and it still isn’t enough. Sometimes, life just isn’t fair. Whatcha gonna do? Cry? Stop living? Nah. Keep pushing. Keep grinding. Come out a better man. The sun is going to rise. Tomorrow will happen no matter what. Keep your faith, hold your family close, and everything else will fall in place. Best of luck to everyone this season.

I finally got to sit down and watch this dual. Sean looked great. Thought the ref missed at least 3 different sets of nearfall. Wish nothing but the best for this guy. He has represented KY to the highest level. I really hope to see him AA this year.

Pledger is going to be a tough go for anyone this year. He trained his butt off this offseason. I really like the way he wrestles. Scrappy! I’d say top 5 at 132, 138 or 145. Tough kid. -
The Lafayette 5 Star is going on this weekend Coach.

Thanks for the info on Madison Central. Should be some good match ups at DCC A couple off the top of my head would be Yost vs Insko and Brown vs Brooks.
-
The flier shows Apollo and Madison Central there as well. Has that changed?
-
Amazing! Way to go Sean!

I love that the college season is here! Having Flo sure helps pass the time. Iowa and Penn State has once again emerged as the 2 powerhouse programs in the country. Ohio State is obviously still right there with them as well. Although Iowa pitched the shutout against Kent State winning 45-0, I thought Penn State looked more dominant with a 52-3 victory. I know it’s Kent State, but there are some solid kids in that lineup. Penn State is weak at 125 and might have to make an adjustment there. Iowa’s lineup was good the other night, but they left some big names at home (Kemerer and Stoll.) Here is my early, early, too dang early dual meet prediction based solely off of one duals. I’m a HUGE Hawkeyes fan, but this is gonna get ugly! Penn State is just absolutely amazing. 125 Lee tech Schnupp Iowa 5-0 133 Bravo-Young dec DeSanto Iowa 5-3 141 Lee dec Murin PSU 6-5 149 Verkleeren dec Lugo PSU 9-5 157 Nolf pin Young PSU 15-5 165 Joseph dec Marinelli PSU 18-5 174 Hall dec Kemerer PSU 21-5 184 Rasheed maj Wilcke PSU 25-5 197 Nickal pin Warner PSU 31-5 HWT Cassar dec Stoll PSU 34-5 Bravo-Young and Verkleeren will step right into this line up and AA, probably top 3 or 4 if not higher. Rasheed at 184 looked right at home. Nickal looked like he has filled in to 197 without any issue. And, I expect to see Cassar knock off Nevills for the starting spot. If Penn State was to insert Teasdale at 125, this could be a very scary team. They could possibly have 5 champs, again.....if not more.

Huge congratulations to Olivia. That is an amazing accomplishment. I had the opportunity to watch her firsthand at the All Star Classic. Very impressive. I’m not sure who is/was the first high school All American for our ladies here in KY, but I know we are sure proud of Mequoia Bernabe here in Woodford County for becoming an All American this past year at Fargo. I am really excited about our future with womens wrestling in KY. Any time we are building the sport, we are heading in the right direction.

KY coming home with 3 Champs! Wheeler and the Deck bros. all pulled off wins in the finals. Great job by all that went and competed. We as a state had a very good showing.
