    Young Coaches in KY

I forgot kaiser, and Ashbrook in my original post.. both are very good coaches. Also a old college teammate of mine Josh boggs, not sure if he is still helping at cc or not but he is a stand up guy and very knowledgeable about the sport..

    Young Coaches in KY

As far as young coaches go I would have to say Josh and Dan Muncy at Sheldon Clark, and Eric Burrell at LaRue. Pretty sure Josh is the only head coach of the 3, but all of those guys seem to be doing pretty good at their schools..

    Fargo

talk about different level guys at fargo.. Aaron pico has to be in that conversation, he is one of the most dominate wrestlers to come thru the school ranks in a long time. However California seems to do well at fargo every year, they have some studs out there..

    region strength

I too live in region 8 and think it has a lot to do with the style in our region. to me at the state tourney our guys look to be in slow motion compared to other regions especially when wrestling on our feet. None of our region have the neutral movement or technique from the feet as the other regions, especially out west and up north. The hand fighting and aggressiveness just doesn't seem to be there, the whole region just seems to be more comfortable on the mat, and by then they are already behind. just my opinion tho.

    Best Kentucky Wrestler Ever?

I believe that mitch Ervin and Derek scott should be in the conversation. mitch was the champ in john wolsifers weight 160 there senior years. a great match that never happened. but both mitch and Derek were so dominate there last couple years.

    State Venue

its definitely not centrally located but Corbin has the arena and its right off the side of I75. and it would be perfect for the tournament, it holds concerts and such. It has the specialized lighting and plenty of seating and definitely enough room for 6 or even 8 mats.. just a thought.

    Weight Classes toughest to weakest

I don't know if scheffer just peaked at the right time or what but he looked like he was on a different level than vega and hernandez. and both of them are good quality wrestlers.
  9. I agree with tarzan on this, ky being used as a 1 year experience booster for other states is crap. somehow someway we need to stop this from happening.

    Weight Classes toughest to weakest

Personally I believe 170 was the weakest it seemed as if the competition level wasn't up to par with the other weight classes. I would say 182 was pretty tough, a lot of good wrestlers with no clear favorite to speak of.

Freedom Hall would bring a breath of fresh air to the tournament.. Literally speaking.. I believe eventually we would fill most of the seats there..

Iwin I believe Troy Wismer who place 3rd or 4th at state his jr year left trinity and was declared ineligible the next year. that's been a while though, like 2003 or 2004

    Referees

I really didn't think the refs done to bad this weekend.. Sure they were some mistakes made but were never going to have a state tournament that is perfectly called, that simply doesn't happen in any state or nationals. I personally think the wrestlers and coaches need to work on what they can control, because the element of human error will always be present.

    State Finals Predictions

A heavy weight to watch out for is Alexander Peters from pike central. Im not sure he is good enough to win it but I do believe he will be on the podium.
