Both have some battles of their way to the finals but hope its them in the end

Dual tournaments early in the season are always tough to judge. Football season impacts some of the bigger guys and teams aren't always at full strength. I still prefer dual tournaments they are easier on the fans to follow and usually make for a shorter day in the gym.

I believe all coaches can view them once the team has been entered into the system.

Has anyone view the weight management results? Any surprises how low people can go?

Now that the week is here anyone care to take a shot at the top teams and kids in each weight class. Could see some possible state semi-finals and final match ups this weekend. Good luck to everyone going.

Which teams have the toughest schedules this year? Who are they and who are they wrestling?

I think CC and Union have to be the favorites early in the season. They are tough at almost every weight and will score big points. I don't think X can repeat in fact they might not be the best team in Louisville this year (Trinity and Moore) after the talent they lost. I believe those three teams wrestle each other during the season so we will know more midway through the year. I see CC and Union top 2 followed by more northern Kentucky team maybe Ryle,WV,SK then the Louisville teams rounding out the top five. I am curious where the lighter studs for each team will fall and if they will be in the same weight so we can see great finals matches. I am guessing each of them finds their own weight Boston 120 Blackwell 126 Ervin 132 Fausz 138. Going to make 113 and 145 fun to watch due to people avoiding those hammers.

Great Coach and Great Man! Made Elder one of the top programs in that area year in and year out. After all of those years it will be interesting to see who is in line to take over. One of his current assistants? Someone from the outside? I personally believe it will be someone who wrestled for him and who he is confident in. I would hate to see a Cincinnati program like Elder drop off because of the influence it has in areas of Ohio, Ky, and Indiana. Good luck Coach McCoy

The Horsepark is dirty but I like the space. I have never be a fan of spending 3 days in a crowed gym. I enjoy the space it allows you to walk around and spread out a little. The medals and awards are bad they need to be improved the wrestlers deserve more. They need to find a way to seed each weight class. I noticed this year that many weights had unbalanced brackets. This really comes into play during the team race as well. Tons of weights were unbalanced 160, 195 come to mind. For example, a wrestler found himself on the easier side of the bracket (opposite the top 5 ranked wrestlers). Instead of perhaps losing in the quarterfinals on the tough side he hits the finals getting all those team points for his team in the process why the top ranked wrestlers are forced to go for 5-8th because they knocking each other out. Not only do the best wrestlers not wrestle in the finals but they cost team points as well. I thought the tournament was exciting and very well ran. Good job to all wrestlers!

Perhaps the immaturity of the fans is why Kentucky’s wrestling has trouble growing as a sport. One thing to have disagreements among each other but to take it to a public forum is simply childish. I thought adults were supposed to be role models for wrestlers… Nothing but garbage on this website now!
