Give me a good reason why?

Those who whine about seeding must have lost!!!!! If you are the best wrestler then you win no matter what your seed. What you are seeded second and get second you have one loss at the state tourney just like the guy who took third. Oh, but wait you got to make the finals, Bullsh*t!!!!! I personally would rather go out with the win!!!

Give me a good reason why?

I personally think that those "extras" should have a qualifier first. Why not have a true JV state, where the winners in each weight class could compete unattached at the Varsity level at Regionals. They win the 120 pound JV state title then they can compete unattached at the Regional tournament. This not only increases the number of participants in the post season but gives atheletes that are on a very tough squad the opportunity to show their stuff at the next level. By allowing them to compete unattached they don't score points for their repsective teams. So the team scores would only be skewed from the perspectives of loses to the JV guy, and if it is a competitive weight class then the JV kid could upset and take points away from his own team. I know it would take a lot of time to accomplish this, but it would help to grow the sport.

I know for a fact that Mr. Myers has been in CC's wrestling room, saw him there with my own eyes, never once did any of their coaches ask him or his family to leave. Previous post goes to this ignorance!

The Great Debate - Public vs. Private

Here is my only concern with this and it is totally on the academic side of things. I did a little research and found that Trinity being a private school does not have to take the state standardized test. This means that their students are not required to take a standardized test (CATS/K-prep) which measures academic performance and growth compared to other students in the state and country. So there is no way to tell if those students are performing well or not, as for your college comment most of the students who attend the Trinities/X's come from wealthier families who regard education as a means to a better life and expect their kids to attend college (hence the reason they pay so much for highschool notice I said highschool not better school!!!). I also did a little research into scores on the ACT which is one of the tests to get into college. Of the 126 or so Private schools in the state of KY (not couniting charter schools) only 34 students have scored a 34-36 on the ACT test in the last 5 years. Of the public schools in the state 234 students have scored in the top 1% (34-36) in the last five years. So if your argument is founded on Level of eduacation then think again!!!!

    KY vs The world

Why can't you do both? I feel that successful teams pull more kids (of all abilities). I know that CC has and will continue to have a very legitamate JV schedule (majority of which are varsity tournaments). That is why they can bring a guy up from JV and have them do fairly well at the Varsity spot. Why not take the average kid to Ironman, "if it doesn't kill you it will only make you stronger" fits here if you take an average kid and expose them to very tough comp. then when they wrestle at an average comp tourney they could dominate.

    MOW

Paulham, I hope you continue to work hard this offseason so next year at SWOWCA and GMVWA we can have a KY wrestler in the finals of every weight class from 113 to 182 (220 Austin). You proved your tenacity and wil to win late last year and this year. Keep pushing and improving, pack on some muscle and improve your technique DOMINATE next year!!!!!

    MOW

Because you brought it up, CC was not the state duals champ that honor goes to Union. I will say that if you are interested in seeing how CC faired against Ohio teams in tourneys look at the gmvwa results CC smashed Glenn este before the myers showed up imagine how far ahead of the field they would have been with them there. I would pit Yenter against any 120 pound wrestler in Ohio ( the whole state all divisions) he destroyed the kid from waynesville and beat Byrd. I would also put Stephen and Austin against anyone in the state of Ohio. Paulham can hang with anyone in the not so great state of Ohio. Get over yourself SW Ohio hahahaha! I watched the d1 districts saturday and saw very few good wrestlers. I went up to FF and expected to see great wrestling and was very dissapointed. Sorry had to post! Fahey you are a class act and great wrestler congrats!!!

Will Brock be the first 5 timer in KY

GOO you are like a walking timeline for KY wrestling I will be sure to check with you first I was not around for Courtney to old and was not around for clarkston to young, and forgot about Fahey. I eat my words on the four timer comment, thanks for pointing out the errors and keeping me honest.

Will Brock be the first 5 timer in KY

That is quite a statement. Baring a ruling that ms wrestlers cannot wrestle hs I see more in the future maybe not the near future but eventually. I would also like to point out that knable is still the only 4 timer to run them off in succession ( for those... That's in a row). Good luck Brock! I think if you continue to work hard and have a bit of luck you will succeed.

Will Brock be the first 5 timer in KY

Look throughout the history of the sport. In ky we had two 4 timers who lost at least once in their "Drive for 5". In Virginia just this season a three timer lost to a returning 1x champ in the finals. In Cali in the early 2000's a kid was chasing four and lost his senior year to an eventual 4 timer. Dan Gable losing his senior year of college. Their is so much talent in the state already plus those who will be great in the future, don't think for one minute he has five locked up, there is always someone who could have his number. I hope he does, but like my mother always said, "don't count your chickens 'till all the eggs hatch".

Looking for Head Wrestling Coach position

South Oldham was looking last year! They were once a powerhouse and need to be revived, this guy sounds like he could do just that.

    Great Matches at State

I agree with the pink socks and his positioning on the trip has improved, must have a good HWT coach in the room.

    Teams to look out for...

I think X will be good next year even though they graduated 5. They have a solid line-up and some of their placers back. Union of course has a heck of a team coming back all of their CHAMPS and a few placers. They only lose 3. Larue will also be good they always are not sure if they lose 4-5, but have a few placers coming back. Trinity graduated three studs but don't count them out. Young throughout the rest of the line-up. Campbell also graduated 3, two CHAMPS. They "could" have 2 placers and two champs coming back plus a handful of kids who should place. Team to beat as of now, Campbell County followed close by Union.
