This should probably be started under its own topic. We are talking about two different tournaments. Is this a tournament that will require our kids to wrestle for a true second? It seems like that is the only way to run this tournament.

If a parents and kids think cutting is best that is their decision. If it is cut the right way its not terrible. All we are doing is promoting it by giving extra weight everytime we turn around.

I understand regionals had to be pushed back I just hope we leave the plus one at plus one. Why should kids wrestling where they belong be punished for kids that can't maintain weight? Lets get it together coaches and leave it where it is. We are putting these kids at a disadvantage.

During the season I understand giving the allowance. We are no longer in the season. This is the post season and if a kid can't make weight they don't make it. They chose to move down now live with your decision and make it or stay home.

Parents the District can not stop you from going to the tournament. The only thing they can stop is the registered coach with the school. If the host school has not cancelled take your kids and let them compete.

Clayton Boyd from Conner has a great chance of placing at 92 this year.

What are the rules for a youth wrestle to participate at Youth State? He has a USA Card and lives in Kentucky. He is not on a team, will that matter as long as he is at Regionals? Will he be able to wrestle unattached?

Plenty of teams, its about convenience. I have placed both my boys on the Golden Cross Elementary Gold Team. Its hard to pass up a room full of Ohio state qualifiers and placers. My boys look forward to the end of year party at the horse park. Its not about the tournament its about the experience for my boys.

I guess this question is directed more towards Ranger, MLee, or one of the board members. I appreciate the input I just need to make sure he doesn't have to be on a team in Kentucky. This is just for youth not middle school.

Weigh ins: Friday August 16th 6-7 pm at Athletic Facility Next to High School. Saturday August 17th, 8 -9 am at Steubenville High-school. Shooting for 10:00 start time.

With any luck the numbers will stay up. My boy decided he needed a little time off. He is in a full arm cast for the next three weeks.

Its been quite on here today. What big changes do we have to look forward to with KHSAA taking over?

I know its not going to change I just like to get people talking about it. I think we are 8-10 years away from it. I can't help myself I love to stir the pot and Raidercoach is always a good person to call out he's not afraid to mix it up on here. As for egomaniac parents, the coaches that know me know I'm not one of them. I don't care if they come out on top or bottom of the match as long as they are good sports and give it their all.

I think it's time for Kentucky to follow suit and change the way we run our state tournaments. Cutting weight is there it is also there in our system. It might not be as noticeable still there. If we are loud enough we can change things to make it better for Kentucky and the kids coming up in the programs.

Is this a Middle School meeting or a Youth meeting? If its Middle School its a little more black and white. If its Youth its hard to tell who is a coach and who isn't.

When and where is the meeting? I will try to make it and voice my opinion.
