Let me say this. No one is forcing Mike Barren to be over wrestling. I'm pretty sure he chooses to. That being said, every time I was on the floor next to the head table, he seemed disgruntled and not enjoying the event. Than quit your job mike!!! No ones making you be apart of our sport. He especially seemed disgruntled during semis when I saw him yelling at shaw over the walkie talkie. Get someone in there that will enjoy the job and work to bringing the High School tournament as good as the Middle School one.

Man that sucks for the kid. Hopefully they can figure it out so that he can have a shot his senior year

The random draw was nice to Agnew that's for sure. I coached Robert Bussell every year that hes wrestled except this year.Hes a really tough kid. He's caught some bad breaks at the Region tournament every year, but seem to be putting everything together now. A lot has to do with the new coach there. He's getting thru to the kids in a way I guess i simply couldn't and they seem to be buying into his system. Great kid, hope he wrestles well and gets on the podium, as well as all the other Hoptown young men.

And let me point out as I pointed out to bot him and Tacket, that the basketball teams at the sweet 16 tournament DO NOT play simultaneously on different courts to get that event done any faster.

This is the email that I just received from Mike Barren Nothing done in the event management that the staff does here is done on a whim, it is carefully reviewed and considered, with the kids and safety elements being the number one concern. Any changes developed by the staff, factor in many more issues than a finals schedule. We feel that this takes nothing away from the championship match and its competitors. They still get the recognition of being the two who wrestle for the title, whether it’s one of one match, or one of four matches. And they will get the ability to be the one standing on top of the podium as number one. And the only one able to say that. As always, these events are reviewed in depth following each competition, and I am sure there will be such a review after this one as well. We will strive to find how we can increase the experience for everyone. Hope you continue to support the event. Safe travels and stay warm.
