How big of a basement do ya got...:)))) -
I second that. Thanks a lot Mr Duke you do a great job. Always, sorry to hear about Keyandre. Blue went through not being able to wrestle last year. We’ll be praying for the young man.

Blues doesn't attend Johnson Central any longer. He transferred to Lawrence County "which doesn't have a wrestling program" last year. -
I agree 100% with this post. That's why I'm traveling 2 hours to Carr academy for practice thur the week lol. It's well worth the money and time.

I agree the top 3 "Spencer, Giaonne, Duke anyway you type their names their the top 3" are a step above the rest. Their monsters but their not head and shoulders above say 4-6 or 7. 5 and 6 are closer to them then you think IMO. -

Noah and Spencer are great great wrestlers but I don't think I'd say hands down they are the best kids in the middle school ranks. There a couple more kids that are pretty darn good to. -
My vote is YES!

I agree with Coach T proper training "strength, flexibility, aerobic, conditioning, and nutrition" are very important in trying to cut down on injuries.
-
My son "Blue" plays baseball, football, and wrestles. He also played basketball until 7th grade. I've talked to a few parents of kids who only wrestle. They've never really mentioned any down side to only wrestling year round. There is injurys in any sport it just comes with the territory. There are plus and minus in doing it either way.

2 LB Weight allowance encourages weight cutting?
Bluesdad replied to Notorious's topic in Youth Wrestling
Last December Blue was 105lbs soaking wet. At the start of October he was walking around at 127lbs now he walks around at 132lbs. So I know your pain. -
It's my understanding that all schools that helped out " table workers, concessions, gate, etc" got a cute from the middle school tournament. So Montgomery Co wasn't the only school benefiting from having MS state there. But I could be wrong everyone knows I have been before lol.

Moving MS state away from Montgomery County made zero sense to me aswell.

2 LB Weight allowance encourages weight cutting?

Of course the 2lb weight allowance encourages middle school kids to cut. The intentions of the rule isn't to encourage cutting but that's exactly what the rule does. A lot of the weight classes will be drastically different after the new year with most kids that switch weight classes cutting down a class. -
I'm just hoping Blue finishes the year healthy this year. Hopefully everyone has healthy years.
-
Gonna be fun this year at STATE!!! A lot of great talent again in the middle school ranks.

A little early for this but I'll play along. Here's my top 15 picks for who I believe are the most dominate and best wrestlers in middle school in Kentucky. 1. Brayden Giaonne 168 CWA 2. Noah Duke 152 Ryle 3. Spencer Moore 86 WV 4. Blue Fletcher 130 CWA 5. Cole Thomas 92 Ryle 6. Luke Chapman 98 CWA 7. Bryant Beane 113 WV 8. Stephen Little 152 Union 9. Joel Hatchett 140 RC 10. Reece Goss 121 WC 11. Jeffrey Kinley 105 MC 12. Colin Tucker 80 WC 13. Caleb Wittry 140 SC 14. Jude Powell 92 Fairdale 15. Nolan Banfield 92 CWA These are just my opinion based on seeing kids this year. I know there is many other great wrestlers in the middle school Ranks. -
I agree with your statement. It has seemed in the past that the best wrestlers in MS have mostly been under 100lbs. Although this year I believe we have a mix of really great wrestlers at all weights. If you look at who "most" people would consider the top 6-8 kids in MS this year you will get kids ranging in almost all weights. Also if a kid is wrestling at a high enough level while they are in 4th grade to be ranked. Rank them! My son has wrestled middle school since the 2nd grade. We didn't have rankings for MS then so I didn't have to worry about it lol.
