Blue just turned 9 and Geordon is 14 so now it's just a 5 year difference bad math on my part...lol. Yeah Geordon has been wrestling middlenschool for a while I think he started when he was in 2nd grade the same as Blue.

I understand that's dominating. But Blanton would've tech pinned his first 3 kids if he didn't let them up and was still up by no less than 12 points on each when he pinned them with all coming no later than the second period. Kearns is a beast and I wouldn't try to take anything away from the kid he's great. I just feel Blanton was the best overall wrestler there today with the best skill set.

We Johnson County parents loaded our kids up and drove them there ourselves which im sure many others did as well.

Yeah Blanton is from the same county as my son. They both wrestle for the Johnson County middle school team. But just about 6 years difference in age...lol Kearns is a great wrestler but I still think Blanton and Sheffer dominated in a more fashionable way.

The closet match the 140 has had all year was by the kid from Johnson Central (Gamble) he wrestled tonight in the finals. He beat him 3-1 in the regional finals. Androni is good but he's not on Blantons level as a wrestler right now. They already robbed Blanton from a MOW at regionals by giving it to the Woodford kid but no way he wins it over him this time. I think it had to either be Blanton or Sheffer( I thunk that's how you spell it) for MOW.

Yeah sure there's some bias. But tell me who has dominated their class the way Geordon has? No one. The points anyone had scored on him are the points he gave them when he let them up. Pinned and teched all the way through. No one has had a better tourney.

MOW has got to be Geordon Blanton he has absolutely dominated!

There's nothing wrong with a re-bracket fee. These tournaments start early most 9am. If your worried about their weight after they eat dinner Friday evening encourage them to wait for breakfast after weight ins Saturday morning. I have a 9 year old 70lber and he never eats prior to weight ins the morning of. I suppose most youth wrestlers do this. Blue is under weight regardless, we just choose to eat a little later on mornings we wrestle. It doesn't hurt them in anyway and no it's not cutting weight to make a 8 or 9 year old wait to eat breakfast around 8 or 8:30. I wish this tournament was on Sunday the 3rd. Would have really loved to have let Blue wrestle here. Sounds like it will be a great tourney with great competition. Sorry we have to miss it but middle school state is a big honor for a 3rd grader to attend.

Yeah they made them go to a overtime period. Blue was so frustrated by that time he wasn't able to do anything. But still the same ref made a terrible call in the OT aswell. Called a take down while Blue was standing. No hand on the mat or anything just awful. I had to leave I was hot. They stole the belt from him. We were suppose to be at state duals but half our middle school team wrestle high school so we didnt have enough kids to wrestle...lol. Yeah I saw were he finished fourth he did awesome. I entered Blue but we had a big baseball tourney that weekend so we didn't go. I think Blue wouldve did well there. The kid that won Blues division was a Raike kid from WV. Blue has wrestled him twice. Beat him once and lost to him once. So maybe he would've placed pretty decently up there. But were going this year for sure. Tell Jack we said good luck with all hisngoals in the future. If you are going to any tourneys innthe near future let me know and I'll bring Blue and we can gave our battle finally...lol.

Yeah I've watched Jack he's a great lil wrestler. Blue was robbed at last years belt series. He pinned his way through the entire 3 tourneys but during his last match of the last tourney he pinned the kid and then after a 5 minute discussion with the opposing coach the ref said Blue used a illegal move, which he didn't. I got upset and left before I was threw out...lol. But how do you pin a kid have a 5 minute conversation with the opposing coach and reverse the call. It was pitiful. But yeah Blue just turned 9 and is in the 3rd grade also. He wrestles the 70 lb middle school aswell. He has qualified for state the last 2 years. Didnt go last year but we are this year. But I believe were going to the summit view youth tourney Sunday after we watch the high school state duels Saturday. Or we may go to Columbus Saturday according how much it snows here. Are you guys wrestling anywhere this weekend. Good luck to Jack rest of the year. Is he doing the belt series this year? If so they may meet there.

Did the Grandstaff boys make it to state. I heard they never. If not I hate that those kids are pretty talented. I know in region 4 Blue Fletcher is a third grader, Dylan Vanover from Mccreary is a 7 th grader, not 100% sure about the rest but was told the Upton kid from Woodford is a 7th grader and the Miller kid from Hayes and Purvis kid from Elkhorn are 6th graders. so I think 70 will be a crap shoot with anyone qualified being able to win.

Yeah I think they were 3 seventh graders at 70 in region 4 this past weekend.

What age are most of the 70lb kids I know my son is in 3rd grade just turned 9. But I've noticed most are older than that by a couple years say 11. Is this accurate?

Not sure but I think a lot of classes will be very competitive. I think the 70lb class has a number of kids that could shock some kids and get in the podium. I think you could configure the final results 50 times may not get it right. Very tough class with a lot of very good kids in it. I was surprised FrIetsch(sp) beat Holub. Blue beat a kid 5-2 from Wahama that pinned Frietsch. But that just shows in this weigh class anyone can beat anyone. it should be very fun to watch. 75 I think comes down to Yenter and Tucker 80 Roth and Sawyer are very good 92 Slone, Moore, Ervin, and Carpenter are great kids 96 Smith and Robert's are the favorites I think 105 I think Garett McCloud or Sheffer 113 I think is wide open 121 Geordon Blanton hands down probably best middle school kid in the state 130 Another one that is wide open 140 Andronei is the favorite but Blake Gamble showed this weekend he can be knocked off 152 168 190 are wide open Heavy is Kerans to lose

Tough class. 75 lb winner Tylan Tucker from Wood runner up was Gentry Deck from mad not sure about 3rd and 4th. 80 lb winner was Trey Barber from Wood and Logan Greene 4th JC not sure about the rest. 86lb winner was ADam Binder not sure about the rest. 92 winner Joe Slone from JC 2nd Wesley Whlein Ashland not sure rest 98 Joey Roberts winner 105 Garett McCloud winner Michael Maddox 2nd Braden Wyatt Bour 3rd 113 Ethan Gilbert winner 121 Geordan Blanton JC winner Nathan Begley MC 2nd 130 don't know 140 Max Androni Wood winner Blake Gamble JC 2nd they had a great match ended 3-1 I believe 152 don't know 168 winner Leo Smart Wood 2nd Floyd Cox JC 190 don't know 230 Don't know Sorry I didn't know all the placers my minds not what it used to be...lol.

Region 4 was 1) Woodford Co 2) Johnson Co not sure who 3rd was. But if was a great day of wrestling. All weight classes were pretty solid with competition. The 70, 92, 105, 130, 140, and heavy were all pretty solidly stacked. The hospitality room was great. It was ran well and moved quickly. Only down fall was Geordon Blanton not getting the MOW of the region. Don't get me wrong the Androni(spelling) kid was solid and is a great wrestling but Blanton dominated and IMO is probably the best middle school wrestling in the middle school ranks in Ky. But overall great tourney and ran well.

Region 4 should be pretty tough. I'm looking forward to the 70lb class. Top 4 are all pretty solid kids should be very exviting.

Is there any individual results posted for this tourney?

I don't know Neice practicing everyday with Sam Preston has really helped him find his mean streak. I also think Geordon Blanton should be #2 and maybe #1 at 120. He beat a top ranked Va kid #2 or 3 I think over the weekend at The Grundy tourney.

It's according how far you want to drive. I know Summersville Wv, Bristol TN, Pikeville Ky, St. albans Wv, Zanesvile OH, are all having open tourneys this weekend. Just to name a Few places. Were probably going to Summersville and Bristol.
