Got this text from a Union guy: "Union County had a strong weekend of wrestling this Friday and Saturday coming away with the Harrison Ten Way championship. The Braves posted a perfect record of 9-0. Defeating Fern Creek 54-9, Southridge 61-9, Boonville 70-7, Memorial 62-12, Harrison 70-6, Reitz 75-6, Louisville Trinity 67-9, South Spencer 76-6 and Pike Central 66-15. Union County had 9 undefeated wrestlers 106 Zeke Escalera, 113 Gabe Adams, 120 Sam Bacon, 132 Saul Ervin, 145 Chance Oxford, 152 Micah Ervin and 182 Avery Buckman. Buckman received the Outstanding Wrestler award for his dominance of his weight class. Matthias Ervin and Ross Hicks each posted a 8-1 record. Landon Moore and Payton Snyder each went 7-2. Also competing for the Braves were Demetrius Griffin and Jaycob Ellis. I missed 2 undefeated wrestlers. Payne Carr 126 and Bryce Sheffer 138" Payne Carr and Zeke Escalera also competed in Virginia last week at a middle school national duals. Zeke went 9-0 and Payne went 7-2.

They are both in the top 4 of the region rankings, and Falcon knows more about Ft. Campbell than probably any other team in the region so I say he has did he due diligence and given the respect they need.

Union off the top of my head: Jason Walls, Josh Walls, Derek Trowbridge?, George King?, Aaron Carr, Jarvis Elam, Diante Wright, Keaton Thomas, Isaac Thomas, Isaac Ervin, Caleb Ervin, Brock Ervin, Thomas Buckman, Rashaud Wilkins, Raynel Brown, Bryce Sheffer (signed LOI with SIU), Jayce Carr. I'm sure I am missing someone. Edit: Forgot Trae Blackwell at Oklahoma right now.

Per the Region 1 Rankings thread, Chance Orr is not wrestling this year to focus on academics.

So Sam Bacon (Union) takes Brady Wells to OT, loses that one but then beats Blake Roth. Not a bad 120 addition for Union.

Daniel Moll is not wrestling and Caleb Riley tore his ACL unfortunately.

I predict Union to not bring a full team considering they have guys take the ACT every year at the same time as this tournament. They just dominated a good Castle (Indiana) team. Looking at the teams scheduled to attend, looks like it's going to be a meat grinder. Ranger should have a ton of good results to base his next rankings off of.

Heck if those two NKY kids were allowed to wrestle when they transferred after the school year started to a team that had a legit chance at a state title, then Brandon should be able to wrestle as well. Come on KHSAA, be consistent!

Did Quentin Cox wrestle last year for Union? And good to see Stephen Little back on the mat. Kid is an athlete.

Union's projected lineup is different than this. A lot different.

Last I saw, Zeke is in the finals at 105 lbs in the Middle School division. Edit: Zeke Escalera loses a tough one 6-4 to Alek Martin (OH)

I think it was Fort Campbell in 2003.... In other news Coach Jarvis Elam is taking Bryce and Zeke to NC for Super 32 this weekend.
