  3. Seymour High School has an Assistant Wrestling Coaching position open, as well as, an opening for a Youth Coordinator. There are several teaching positions currently posted, with a few more being open early next month. The high school is currently wrapping up the process of hiring our new head coach, and we would love to see another addition to our school system who can help in establishing his vision for our wrestling program. Some additional information about the opening, program, and community. Assistant Coach and Youth Coordinator Posting https://www.applitrack.com/scsc/onlineapp/default.aspx?Category=Athletics%2fActivities Teaching Positions High School Teaching Openings https://www.applitrack.com/scsc/onli...chool+Teaching Middle School Teaching Openings https://www.applitrack.com/scsc/onli...chool+Teaching Elementary Teaching Openings https://www.applitrack.com/scsc/onli...chool+Teaching The city of Seymour, IN is located one hour south of Indianapolis, IN, one hour north of Louisville, KY, and 1.5 hours west of Cincinnati, OH. Making it an ideal location for teaching, coaching, and living in a mid-size town, while still being able to easily visit several larger cities nearby. In the last several years we have established a successful elementary K-5 youth league that competes against each other, as well as a youth travel team to compete against other nearby communities. Our middle school coaching staff has helped produce successful teams/wrestlers the last few seasons, several of which are coming into HS soon. Next year our high school will have an experienced upperclassman group spread up and down the weights, as well as some returning varsity underclassmen. The team has had some success with our female athletes, some of whom have placed well in recent years at the Coaches Association State Finals. Currently, the program has two experienced high school assistant coaches available that can stay on to help develop the team. We also have several alumni volunteers including myself, who are willing to lend a hand in supporting the program. In recent years we have also created a solid off-season program including an organized lifting and USA Wrestling program which is attended by several wrestlers. As well, one of our alumni runs a nearby Judo Academy which has been attended by team members in the past for additional training opportunities. Feel free to contact me at mattmartin@live.com for any additional information. I was a former wrestler, have coached at all levels of the program, the program's historian, and I am more than willing to answer any questions, and/or help you in getting things set up if hired.
  4. Seymour HS has an opening for Biology, Business, Spanish, and one for Social Studies. Seymour MS has an opening in Language Arts, one in Science and one in Math. Seymour 6th Grade Center has a Science opening. There are also a couple Elementary teaching openings, as well. Plus, the additional HS Assistant Coach and Youth Coordinator positions available. We also have a HS and MS Assistant Football position if you are interested in helping there and encourage some more guys to come out for the wrestling team. The school is looking to fill these positions very soon, so if anyone is interested please apply at the link above, as well as, contact me so I can help move along the process.
  5. Anyone interest in the head coaching position should apply through the link below. The athletic director is looking over application as they arrive, so apply soon if interested. https://www.applitrack.com/scsc/onli...s%2fActivities You can also contact the athletic director Kirk Mann’s for additional inquiries, but it is expected that a formal application be submitted through the above website first. mannsk@scsc.k12.in.us The athletic director and school corporation has invested more money and energy into the wrestling program recently. This includes offering a stipend for a wrestling youth coordinator and they have said we will likely be adding a second paid assistant coaching position for next season. Both of those moves will ensure the head coach has more support for his program. The assistant athletic director was a former wrestling coach for the school, which should help a lot in making sure the wrestling programs' needs are properly understood and addressed. Our high school is often looking for an additional assistant football coach too, which could provide a helpful in with many of our gridiron athletes, if you are willing to help with another sport. The school and community is looking for an enthusiastic coach who can develop quality student athletes and continue the entire program's development. There is plenty of untapped potential throughout the large student body of just over 1,000 students, and many just need some encouragement from the right coach to get them out. Especially, among the fall sport athletes, many of whom have not participated in winter sports in recent years. There is also a great upside in the larger number at the middle school level, if the right coach is in place to convince more of them to continue to stick with the sport at the high school level. Seymour High School in Seymour, Indiana has posted an opening for a new Head Wrestling Coach. Making it an ideal location for teaching, coaching, and living in a mid-size town, while still being able to easily visit several larger cities nearby. Currently Seymour Community Schools has or is expecting several openings in multiple different teaching positions. Plus, due to the increase in our school population in the last several years we are expecting to open a few new positions throughout the corporation. The link to our current teaching positions are posted below, but I know of a few more that will for sure open within the next two months as some teachers transfer positions. We currently own four flex-roll mats at the high school that are used for practice and events, plus two additional ones at the middle school too. To top it off we have the largest seating capacity gym in the nation, a full secondary gym, and in the next two years will be building a larger indoor muti-surface complex, making the school ideal to host in-season or off-season events. Also, please contact me at mattmartin@live.com for any additional information. I was a former wrestler, have coached at all levels of the program, I am the program's historian, and I am more than willing to answer any questions honestly, and/or help you in getting things set up if hired. Purler Wrestling Camp in Seymour, IN.

We have a few spots left in this great camp. Go to www.Seymourowlswrestling.com, click on the Purler Link at the top of the page, and register under Non-Member Tab to ensure your spot at the camp. When the number cap is reached sign-up's will end, so get your name in soon. From my personal experience of attending as a coach, this is one of the best camps I have ever seen for anyone wanting to truly improve on their wrestling skills set in all positions. Many camp are over crowded, spend a percentage of the time on exercising, showing fancy "trick" moves which rarely work in matches, and let guys wrestle live too much. In the end, campers rarely have a true grasp of moves that will help them succeed. And within a few week of camp ending they have forget most of what was taught. By the time wrestling season rolls around wrestlers and parents often realize they just got a little improvement from the camp experience for the time and money that was put into it. The Purler Camp will leave you with a system of moves from the key wrestling position which are drilled until muscle memory begins to take over. He caps the size of his camp to ensure his staff has time to critic the wrestlers individually as they are drilling. Plus for the price of the camp wrestlers get Coach Purler's DVD series which outlining the moves that were covered. Which by itself is over a $100 value if ordered online. Once you leave camp you wont forget most of what you have learned, because you will always be able to review the information just as it was taught. Trust me you won't be getting the camp experience of paying a good chunk of money and see just little changes out of your wrestlers overall skill level. They will be getting a series of skills that sticks with them and will help them to become a better all around wrestler.
