ATM went pure beast mode on Brinson. West Virginia coaches have to love that performance.
-
johnson central stalled. this isn't even debatable. he was hit 3 times and it could've been more. BUT he got a lead with a TD and milked it. Max needed to score on offense and he didn't. That's why he lost. He will be back in the finals.
-
they did a great job again this year. walk around the tournament and you will hear people pronouncing kids names 5 different ways. no one should get offended.
-
that was a lightning fast pin in the semis by ATM. I blinked and his opponent was in the air and honestly I think the clock operator was 1 second slow. It looked like 8 seconds. I'm not for certain but I seem to remember Eric Slugantz (two timer from Woodford) getting a sub 5 second pin one year at state.

he was really really impressive both days and will be back in the finals several times in his career but David Carr still remains the most polished middle schooler I have ever seen in person.
-
Exactly, every point matters. Also like I said...2nd round?
-
That was a great match. Didn't like the stall calls on Andreoni bc he was out to the side, not on hips, and working tilts. I meant toughest matchups in the 113 2nd round.
-
Ok I had actually heard later he used his hand like a pistol and pointed it at his opponent after the win pretending to shoot. Which would be incredibly classy since there is actually a kid in our KY wrestling community who was recently shot but since I didn't see it myself I didn't say that. But you cleared that up by sayin it was a taunting call for dancing. Not sure if that motion was part of his premeditated dance for winning the 2nd round or not.

Semis in the morning of day 2 was when they had the 16 man bracket
-
Wells and Hurst had the toughest 2nd rd matchups of the top 5 guys (Castellano and Regaldo aren't slouches and both might make podium) and Brady and Tucker still pulled away late and won convincingly. That will help them tomorrow since everybody's got some dust to knock off. Except maybe Meyers who looked very sharp and deadly

wouldn't the 2 pt takedown only tied it and sent it to OT? In a match that close and a call that razor thin Id rather it just go to to OT and let first takedown decide it. I know that's not the fair way or rules based in any way just my gut reaction as a spectator when I see one of those calls that could go either way.
-
Wow. Shocked about Sapp. And Spahr. Looked like Binder had a team pt taken away for Fern Creek he was cruising to an easy win but made some dumb unsportsmanlike symbol to his opponent I didn't see what. But when you have a reputation refs won't hesitate to hit you for it. Costly for a team supposedly in the title hunt.

Kaleb Sapp lost first round to an 8th grader with a record of 9-1. The score was 4-2 Matt Fallon had to injury default in a 10-8 match because he couldn't stop puking. Watch what your wrestlers eat after weigh ins!! Chance Collins needed OT to beat Chafee. That was a #1 against a #4. Collins was the #1 I'm not there just following along on track and gettin texts from others.

Additional pound for the state tournament?
standing granby replied to luvswrestling55's topic in 2015 Season
New Jersey did add +3 for their state tournament this weekend. They realize not all kids have the same opportunities to get practice workouts in and werent worried about how far from scratch the kids would weigh. More about putting the health of kids first. Yall sayin "if you're tough then make weight" and "if you really want it you'll get down" either never had to cut weight safely or just don't know how tough it is for a growing kid with hormones to fight against your body to maintain low weight for 3 weeks with hardly any mat time and intense practice. Just don't know why a coach would complain about the khsaa giving one pound for Friday and another for Saturday. Not a big deal and kind of a no brainer at this point.
