I just found out that the days of running duals or tournaments with wall to wall mats in a gym seem to be over. The new rule states that the mats have to be 10 feet apart with the score table 10 feet past the mat. To my understanding this is to start this year. I know most teams use these events to fund their season and it would seem that this would end big events or at least make them last much longer because of using less mats... I don't like this rule at all. What happens at State duals? What about WCI (very small gym) and they have the mats running up the bleachers there?

I'm sorry to announce that the Bryan Station Open has been cancelled because of a schedule conflict.

This is 100% correct! I know because I was the head official for that Quarter final match. This match scared me more than any other, because I thought the kid had broke his neck. The Waggoner kid who was undefeated, didn't mean to drop him on his head, but it was illegal and the correct call. The Christian county kid did not wrestle another match at that tournament. I've never been booed more in my life... lol

Most kids can't afford the Carr academy, but coming from a county system and now seeing the city system, I think it favors the counties. My sophomore year, the closest teams were over an hour away. I do understand it's tough for both sides.

I disagree with the county schools. Most of those teams have middle school programs, where Lexington schools don't get the support from there school system.

I think there is two groups Wayne, HC & Laf. Group two teams are mad central, Tates Creek, Bryan Station, Danville, Boyle and mad southern have the guns to finish 4 if they wrestle.
