You spent the last 3 years working toward a goal , to be a state champion, and you won first place in your regional tournament during your 8th grade year and then your state tournament was cancelled because of a bad decision on someone elses part. Add to that you were also going to wrestle at the high school level in high school regionals and now this may not happen or you may have to decide between middle school and high school tournaments. Some people have said, big deal. He will learn he has to make tough decisions and he is going to have to learn this. But I will point out to you he is in 8th grade. He is 13 years old. He us a child. Our youth is lost so early and is so precious. What a sad way to learn about life. It breaks my heart for my son because this is his story. For those of you who make light of the decisions he is going to have to make in the next few weeks , I say thank you. Thanks do much for teaching my child , my 13 year old that life can sometimes suck and there's nothing we can do about it

MY POINT is that a decision about your teams status has NOT BEEN MADE AS OF YET and a decision about our teams status HAS BEEN MADE eventhough we are talking about our teams competing on the same day! I am not argumentative, I am highly disappointed. And I fully suggest everyone email Mrs. Johnston to express their concerns. Dont be so quick to judge and or defend]

Email Mrs. Johnston your complaints. I will. Send her a copy of your hotel bill, gas receipts, and a picture of your kids disappointed faces (obviously kidding about that part). Additionally ask her for an explanation as to why she could cancel this tournament based on weather conditions and still allow her high school kids to travel in a county bus on the same hazardous roads on the same day. I doubt she will reply.

yes it is too late. They have to wrestle in a District tournament and place in the top 4 to qualify for the Regional tournament. Then they have to place in the top 4 at the Regionals to qualify for the State tournament

There is a middle school club for Madison County. This year an elementary "conference" (so to speak) has been established that Madison County will also be participating in. My son wrestles for the middle school club and my daughter wrestled with the elementary club last year and both enjoyed it very much. Coach Wolfe works very well with the younger kids and is an excellent coach.

Greco-Roman will be contested Aug. 12-14, women's freestyle will compete Aug. 16-17 and men's freestyle is set for Aug. 19-21. The channels will be different depending on your cable provider. Go USA!!

Madison Central will have a team this year.

I'm looking to purchase a used wrestling mat, if there is anyone/or team out there that is planning on getting rid of there old one or planning on buying a new one. If anyone knows of one that might be available, I would greatly appreciate the info.-thanks

My son wrestles for the Madison County Middle School Club and we were very fortunate to have an outstanding coach that put in a lot of his time to develop a club at the middle school level. I believe that this was an overwelming factor in getting the high school to "buy in" to adding a team. We were able to show that there WAS a large interest at a younger level that allowed the high school to say "yes we have interest from some of our students, as well as, from future students." And yes I do believe that our coach had a good relationship with the local paper. I think it had to have helped in putting any news involving our club in the paper, which in turn helped persuade the high school administators.

ok, so im a wrestler and today(May 31st) i wrestled in the franklin county tournament and it was just for practice. in my last match i dont know when it happen but i did something to index finger and mt wrist. me and my parents think i pulled some ligements and i was wondering if any of u have any suggestions on what i should do??? oh yea and my name is Storm Savage

Hey, just wondering if anyone has an update on the young man (sorry I dont know his name or team) who was taken out on a stretcher. It looked like he may have had a serious injurey. I certainly hope he wasnt. My prayers are with him and his family.
