KY USA Wrestling 2010 Spring - Summer Tournament Schedule - WORKSHEET
colonel_mustard replied to kdsmith27's topic in General Archive
yes lafayette is in lexington and they have a decent turnout but too many high school has a lot but open doesnt -
I have one question, why would you take Woodford out of Region 7 when Montgomery county is farther away than Woodford is from Lexington? It would make a lot more sense to put Montgomery in Region 6 then. Also Lexington is Central Kentucky and Versailles (Woodford Co.) is only 10 mins down the road from Lexington.

At one time sec schools did have wrestling but title IX was put in and that cut a lot of program from schhols including the sec.

if u can make any match from 2009 who would it be at any weight class
colonel_mustard replied to matrat's topic in 2009 Season
I would of liked to have seen at 215: kelly and chiba go at but i think kelly would be the winner in this one. -
I hate that ref from western hills, I don't think he ever talks though at least from what I've experienced he hasn't. I can remember at a summer tournament he came up to me and started doing all kinds of hand motions to try and get me to wrestle my next match. It was like playing a damn guessing game with a child trying to figure out what the in world he wanted me to do.

Hell whenever cattan is reffing a match, he acts as if the match is boring and barely pays attention to what is going on. I remember watching several matches that he reffed and him acting this way.
-
Its for high school and little kids. I don't really remember from last year the youngest age that was there but i think the younger kids were probably the youngest being in 1st or 2nd grade.

Well ML, your post (as I read it) implies Pace is not that good because of the match he wrestled against Semones. Wrong! FYI, the score was 3-1 in 3 overtimes. No takedowns for either wrestler. Give your former teammate some credit for wrestling a decent match. Pace is a good wrestler and has made a good showing the last two years. He has to be the odds-on favorite next year in a deminished 215 weight class.

You think 189 is weak? Look at 215. That's going to be weak as well. Almost everyone in the top 20 especially in the top 10 or so from last year graduate this year. -
Whats everyones favortie song to warm up to before their matches?

Woodford County Invitational -Dec. 29/30

Call it what you want but, as usual, Courtney went about his business in a workmanlike manner and brought home a 10-2 victory against the #2 ranked wrestler in the state for that weight class. As for him looking small, I believe he could probably drop down a weight class if he needed to do so. As has been said many times in these forums, the great thing about Harrison is the fact that he is Harrison, what you see is what you get. There is no pretense or arrogance about him in any way shape or form. He's just a kid who deserves all he can get because he works hard. Everytime I see him wrestle I am reminded that it's technique, not physique, that wins wrestling matches. -

He finished 4-2 and took 5th. Lost to a wrestler from Indiana in the quarters in a tight match. Then lost to the kid from Henry Clay (who he beat a week ago) in the final round of consolations after taking a half-a$$ shot that cost him. Not a fun night tonight but no excuses. You take your hat off to the winner and you live to wrestle another day. A learning experience that hopefully will pay dividends in the future -
Semones is wrestling 189 this year but has bumped up to 215 in a match or two. I heard he's been real sick and probably won't even be in their lineup at duals.
