Aren't the classes determined by school enrollment and not individual talent? Just because he wrestled in a lower class does not mean he didn't beat some quality wrestlers to win the title. He weighed in, he wrestled, he won. Enough said. Quit downplaying a great achievement!

How do you read people's mind so well? Miss Cleo in disquise?

Matches are updated through 2nd round of winners bracket. http://www.khsaa.org/wrestling/2009/state/khs2009home.htm

Give us a name or at least a school and weight class.

Wow, I didn't know he went to OSU. I beat him in the KOB when he was a sophomore and I was a senior. I did know he won state his senior year but I didn't know he wrestled in the Big 10. Damn, I was better than I thought. :-D

KY MS Outstanding Champions (Multiple State Titles)
prpdad replied to CoachF's topic in Youth Wrestling
If the above statements are true than Matt Fahy won MS state as a 4th grader? That's unreal. Who beat him in '07 and '08? -
Fruity Pebbles Frosted Flakes Franken Berries

best wrestler ever to be in middle school wrestling
prpdad replied to CoopD-vill's topic in Youth Wrestling
Yeah, but he's been working hard. Even running several miles on the weekends!! -
what will you do to be a champ!!! i want to hear from everone
prpdad replied to CoopD-vill's topic in Youth Wrestling
You might want to spend a little more time concentrating in your English class because even state champs have to be academically eligible. -
How great would it be to have these two in a Big 10 Final?
-
In the late 80's and early 90's, Western had some very good wrestlers with 3 State Champs, at least 4 runnner ups and probably 10 or so top 6's. This was when it was a district and only 16 went to state and top 6 placed. We also tied for 5th as a team in 1988 and again in 1993, I believe. The State Champs and Runners Up to the best of my knowledge are: Tony Bowling - 1st 1988 Chad Conway - 2nd 1988 Earl Smith - 1st 1989 Daron Britain - 2nd 1989 James Elliot - 1st 1991 Tim Hardin - 2nd 1992 Kevin White - 2nd 1993

Also a running back at U of L, I believe.

These results should probably win 99% of the time. It had to be a weird tournament.
