    woodford vs larue 2007

No offense to any one at all... But pull out your pens and Mark my words "Malcom Jackson will win state next year". This is the last thing i'll say because i dont want to drag this out. In response to previous posts... Ozzy parker is quick, strong and has a good shot, however he doesn't set his shot up well enough, he just jumped right in. Malcom sets his shots much better. Also, i would have to think that ozzy and malcolm are quite exactly the same type of wrestlers. Not much of difference in style. Honestly though, i don't think the talk here should be ozzy parker, it should be Howard vs. Jackson. Thats the real matchup next year if they meet. IN response to the weight issue: Malcolm was cutting 25 pounds to get to 30 and we all know he has no body fat. Problem was he was too modest to tell the coaches he was having difficulty, no excuses for the situation, But Malcolm is a wonderfull kid and the BEST reason i claim so boldly that he will win state next year is because he works EXTREMELY HARD. I don't mean to offend anyone by anymeans, but you can tell which kids will win state by thier work ethic ( derek scott- obviously a very hard working state champ) ( also I knew Murner was going to beat voth just by the way he worked his but off in every shot attemp at state). I see clearly the same work ethic in jackson.

I'm no Psychic nor am i flawless. But i'm not scared to go ahead and say that malcom jackson is no maybe at all. I see him winning state next year at whatever weight he goes. I'm about 95% sure he'll go undefeated as well. Not making excuses by any means, but after seeing him wrestle peace he left no doubt in my mind he'd have probably won it this year, he was my pic atleast. ( But still props to ozzy, winning state is an accomplishment thats not contradictable). Top 3 teams are all really close i would say. Woodford is a very tough team year in and year out, but Larue returns very many wrestlers as well as fern creek does. Possible state champs/ finalists for Fern Creek next year : Wolsiefer** Wood* Jackson** Stewart and and possibly Burkett.

    Best takedown

I think Malcom Jackson should be on that list somewhere. Dont forget he beat Peace 13 to 6 ( he took peace down 6 times ).

    State Finals 06

So it's being said Cooper will win it because it runs in his bloodline?! Thats cute if thats your suggestion. Maybe if he's working his butt off, that could be a good reason why he wins state, but because of his last name? I'm not saying Wolsiefer will smoke cooper by any means, but he's an animal, and he works EXTREMEMLY hard everyday. I've been around a tid bit and can see when a kid has the tools to win state. Wolsiefer has them just as well as Cooper does. I actually wrestled cooper when he was younger and do realize he's a solid fundamental wrestler, but he's not unbeatable. And it would have been to Coopers advantage to have not dodged 152 at the dragon and wrestled Wolsiefer considering he has dramaticly altered his technique from the previous season, But o well, it will all unfold at state.

    state dual

I just wanna say I'm very impressed though not surprised with Malcom Jacksons performance. Now that he's off the injury list and in better shape he proved he's definately a top contender for the title this year at 130 by pinning Bowlds from trinity and nearly major-decisioning #1 or #2 brian peace from Ryle (13-6)

    WCI

I agree that the refs maybe werent favored but still, something needs to be done. However i can say that WCI is a little tilted. My senior year I was undefeated, ranked 2 in state and seeded 4TH in thier Tournament! as a matter a fact, behind two guys i had previously beaten. This was no mistake, the idealogy was for corey qualls ( WC) to be seated 3rd so he could catch an easier semi's match with Koleva from eastern. Ofcourse he won and Made it to the finals, when really he couldn't beat me (#4 seed) nor the #1 seed from tennessee that i beat in the finals. The woodford county tournament is a really competitive tournament, but i cant say that it goes without bias.

*malcom jackson dislocated his collar bone in his championship match, so on a different day when a ref will call potentially dangerous for a kid over cranking a half with legs in, you can expect a way different outcome. *Derek Scott looked impressive as he literally controlled warner. I see him winning state again. *Taylor scherer had his hands full with i think Matt Byrd. Tight match until the end! look forward to watching the rematch. *Voth literally planted murner with a spladle, it was really impressive and even more shocking. Look for him to probably be in the finals in his class. *poor Ben Rupp, woodford county ref gave him the shaft big time. any body there knows he won that match. Honestly is there any way to appeal a refs calls, or him personally? I mean that was a state championship match pretty much, and a ref needs to understand what a take down is and when to award for established control. I understand reffing isn't easy but this call was as clear as daylight. Something needs to be done.

    130

ozzy smith is a good wrestler, but i'm extremely impressed with the improvement of malcom jackson. I'm not saying one will beat the other just yet, but this may be one of the best matches of the year when it happens ( if it does).

    Travis Sullivan?

Caleb chose to go 119 this year mainly because of weight matters, its definately not a "team" decision. Also wrestling at 119 will make him better, he could make 112 but wrestling at 119 with plenty of energy to fight will probably serve him better in the long run.

    Wayne County Duals

Wow, how the tables turned over the off season! i remember last year at state Malcom Jackson was pinned by Eric Bryant, now he techfalled him, thats crazy. Good job on Malcoms behalf, just goes to show the benefits of intense summer wrestling.
  13. for someone to figure out your favorite moves is one thing, but to flat out tell people what they are is really hilarious! It's like "hey, if i ever wrestle you in a match this is what I'll do to beat you"! lol. just playing guys, but really i think this topic is pretty funny

Lewis Ashley attended Jay Robinson's 28 intensive camp in Minnesota, (one of the best in the nation in my opinion).

The Fern Creek optimist coach Mark Hitchings is starting up a new program over at trinity with some of the FC optimist wrestlers leaving with him.
