The girls needed something posted regardless of who it’s from I worked on this for hours on hours collecting information to put forth my best version of these rankings. They ladies all around the state work very hard and deserved recognition. Thanks to those who support this. I’m excited for what the next couple weeks and post season shows.

I want to take a moment to publicly thank the Kentucky Wrestling Coaches Association for a very generous donation to help differ travel cost for Jordyn Raney and myself to travel to Istanbul Türkiye for the U17 Greco World Championships. Saw a great quote yesterday from an article titled "No Superman out there" If you want to be successful in this sport you have to have a blatant disregard for rankings. Does the higher ranked wrestler get spotted a few points? Do they get to start with a leg? Do they get a gun and you get a knife? Make sure you wrestle the opponent and not their ranking. No one can bring their medals on the mat with them. You gotta go out and prove it every day. No one wears an S on their chest. And even if he does find his Kryptonite. Everyone is vulnerable everyone is capable of being beat. Stop giving a darn who you wrestle or what they are ranked. Wrestle aggressively and focus on the two things you can always control: Effort & Attitude.

No match vs raney will be close

We have done entrance music and use Ranger's rankings for our Duals. The kids really enjoy coming out to their choice, especially the extras that get a non-point scoring match. Also, we have had the pep band present. I would like to bring spotlights and cheerleading to make it an event that draws more than just parents. I announce and try to make it entertaining outside the competition. Also, there is nothing better than a dual coming down to the heavys, and everyone in the gym cheering for every point.

Raney just punched his ticket to the World Championship finals match. He has knocked off the World Champ and World Silver medalist on his way to the finals. Gutsy performance with short time in the semis! Congrats! KY is pulling for you.

120- Heady vs Blevins

Do any teams have fun with their duals? Throw out tee shirts, announce names and records, use the spot light? I feel like most just try and get it over with.

Coaches, This happens every year at the beginning of the season as many new coaches at the HS level are unfamiliar with the weigh-in process and the OPC system. There are two links below to help you with this process. The first link is how to add an event to your schedule inside the OPC system. The second link shows you how to generate your weigh-in sheet for that event. Note, if your team has not conducted the Body Fat Assessment yet and entered your roster in the OPC, you will not be able to generate a weigh-in sheet. If you have questions about the latter, you should contact your athletics director immediately. I hope this helps someone! Why would it even be voted on? Girls wrestling uses girls weight classes. It should be a given.

Any word if there will be an Allstar Classic this year?

Only two Kentucky wrestlers signed up for Super 32 high school division. Lane Kiser from Trinity and Ryan Smith from Johnson Central. Not sure why we don’t have more wrestlers doing what might be the hardest folk style tournament in the country.
