Good Afternoon Folks, We have finally gotten some dates nailed down, I am still reaching out to other wrestlers and coaches to attend so we have the most competitive team in the state to represent Ky in Danville, Illinois. Please come ready to Wrestle. All state qualifiers are encouraged to come out and challenge for positions on the team or just practice if you want. We will have some coaching from the staff and wrestlers at Lindsey Wilson. Lets show them that Ky can wrestle with the best of them. 03/09/19 compete in KWOA tournament 03/16/19 12:00 CST 1:00 PM est Lindsey Wilson College 03/30/19 12:00 CST 1:00 PM est Lindsey Wilson College KWOA Spring Classic (2019).docx

If any programs are doing summer or off season workouts and allow other kids from other programs to come join and workout. Please post them on here, once you have the schedule figured out. Post the address and days and times of the practices. Also if your off season training is free or if a fee is involved also include that as well. Many programs do absolutely nothing during the off season. So this could be a great opportunity for Ky wrestlers who want to get better. I think this forum is the perfect place to post off season workouts that allow other programs to come join in. That way instead of searching facebook looking for teams that allow kids to come participate. We can just come here to the Kentucky wrestling forum and easily find information to get better.. #IronSharpensIron. #KyStrong #300.

Off season tournaments need to invest in better awards and actually post the pictures of what they are when they post the event flier. If you watch the NuWay tournaments, everyone goes for the awards. This creates more numbers and better competition. Also Spatola has put together nice awards, belts in the past and now shields. Kids want trophies and big awards. Parents want trophies and big award. Little 1/2 dollar medals with generic print does not create excitement when they can cross the river to Ohio, Indiana or West Virginia and get huge awards and loaded brackets for just a couple $$ more at the entry fee. People in this sport don’t mind spending the money if they see the value!!

I would say that being an All American in any division is some pretty lofty goals. I am proud of all of our Kentucky boys, especially the ones that choose to challenge themselves in college. Sean Fausz, Nathan Boston and Austin Meyers are a few of the elite by far, but we can’t all live up to that level no matter the training. I am so proud of all of Kentucky boys that chooses to compete at the next level. If they make their respective national tournament, no matter the division, even better. We can argue about this and that all we want. The bottom line is we are improving.

This has been a problem for years not show up to the meetings but complain if something gets voted on that they don't like. I was guilty of that for sometime then I started making meetings and got active with the overall workings. Now I am the secretary of KFWC and I emplore all teams to send a representative to the meetings to voice their opinion and vote. We also need to remember this is about the kids not the adults. We are KFWC which includes teams that are clubs and schools, there should not be a defining line between the two as either way they are full of KIDS that just want to wrestle.
