Thank you, Ranger. I do not think it can be overstated how much your work is important to the viability of wrestling in Kentucky. As far as I know, you are the only person consistently putting out rankings of wrestlers in this state (and doing so despite less than satisfactory input of data by schools). Even if coaches don't like their wrestlers focusing on rankings, your work nevertheless keeps renewed fan/parent interest and debate, increases the optics for media coverage, and provides at least a baseline for preparation for matches and measurement of opponents. These things are important to the sport. If there is to be a future seeding of a state tournament, your work will be the first evidence relied upon.

I think it is silly the way they are doing it.... Traffic will be chaos if it is going to rain like they predict.

How many teams across the state entered full lineups into their Regional Tournaments this year? I know Harrison County and Johnson Central did from Region 8. At Harrison County we were fortunate to fill Varsity, JV, and women's teams this year. It seems like numbers are up across the state, I hope this trend continues.

Florence is in NKY, right across the river from Cincinnati. I'm thinking you meant to say another town.

Well, if we wrestled for true 2nd it would at least be a less bitter pill to swallow, and people would stick around to the end.

The random draw and seeding will always come into question. The 32 man vs 16 man brackets will raise the same eyebrows. At the end of the day, there is not a parent or coach that has any real say on the outcome. It will be these young men making their own way. Some will battle through “unfavorable” draws. Some will fold to the pressure. Some will make excuses, some will rise to the challenge. Either way, this is the most exciting time of the year for any wrestler, coach, parent or fan. Best of luck to all you guys out there. Be grateful for every moment you have out on that mat. That goes for parents too. Be grateful for every second that you get to watch them compete, because one day, it’s all over. Unfortunately, sometimes a lot sooner than you think it will be. Just the nature of the sport I guess. I pray for everyone’s safe travels and safe tournament.
