Top 10 Best Kentucky Wrestlers from the past 5 years

IWIN- I think you love you some Nathan Boston more than Nathan Boston loves himself. It's overly obvious your admiration of the young man and he is a fine wrestler indeed. However he was not untouchable by any means this year. A 1-0 victory over Keegan Duncan and a 2-1 victory over Gus Adams doesn't satisfy "untouchable" for me. As far as Flo goes, He wrestled well but it was clear he was massive against all the 106 pounders he wrestled. His finals match was against a 106 pound champ from New York. I would take a Senior or Junior national title over a Flo champ as I would take a Fargo AA ( Sean Fausz) over any champ from an off season event. Nathan is good but I can't but him ahead of anybody on this list. Had he wrestled at Cadet Nationals or Fargo then maybe. Also had he stayed at 120 he would have finished runner up to Blackwell this season. And tap out- Cooper finished fifth in 2011 so Sean is second highest I believe.

Middle School Wrestlers at the HS Level

As much a like both boys, I dont see a senerio where Brady, Tanner, Krebs, and Moore are in the starting lineup for CC this year. I don't see any of these four beating CC, 112 pounder last year, who is probably going to be 120 this season. That means Krebs will more than likely wrestle off Moore at 112, which I give the edge to Krebs. Then at 106 you have Brady, Tanner, and Hahn all battling it out at this weight.

Brock landed at number 5- Fausz number 11- Blackwell 15- and Myers at 11- I think next year at some point we will see match ups between Fausz, Ervin, Blackwell, and Boston! Can't wait for that!

    new scholarship for Kentucky wrestlers

What a great way to honor that young man. This is really cool and really special.
  5. Coltyn wrapped up another outstanding weekend! Finishing 7-1 with Golden Cross at Virginia Beach Nationals. 2nd time this summer Coltyn has dominated out of state comp and achieved AA status. Only loss was due to INJ forfeit. He also beat nationally ranked Flo wrestler Nye 9-2! Great job big boy and good luck at LaSalle next year! Don't forget where you came from big boy!

I think you all are forgetting that four of the mentioned coaches are middle school and youth. With that said they have a very fine staff. Looks like kids will get a lot of individual attention by a group of state champs which is never a bad thing. They have a lot of ground to make up and plan on doing that quickly and being a force in NKY in the next few seasons.

    Best Wrestling Camps

This topic gets brought up quite frequently as the off-season begins. So based off of where you have attended camps, which ones do you consider the best? For me- 1. Jeff Jordan's State Champ Camp- I can not speak on the camp now, as I have not been in over 8 years but when I was there, there was no better camp around. In my first sesson alone, I had 6 future NCAA All-Americans and 2 National Champs out of 18 kids! Also when I started there Jeff ran every single session, team camps had not started yet so you got only the best instruction. Zerkle, Jim, and Jeff at nearly every session was out of this world good. 2. Gramby- While I have never been, cousins of mine and several wrestlers I've coached have and they speak very highly of this camp. From the intense drill sessions to the competitive open mats this camp has it all. 3. Mitch Clarks Take Top Camp- From everything I've heard hands down the best "top camp" in the county. Clark won an NCAA title by tech fall with nearly all of his points coming from on top. Home to Logan and Hunter Steiber, Mitch Clarks runs a great tilt and turn series that I picked up a few years back at his camp. He is also great to coaches who want to come up and watch. Encourages video tapping and overall is a cool dude. 4. J Robinson's Intensity Camp- Never went but everyone who has been there makes me never to want to go! Haha, super intense and a camp that builds wrestling warriors. 5. Ken Chertows- Basically the McDonalds of wrestling camps. Not the best, but probably the most marketed camp out there. Gets a lot of quality wrestlers and a lot of slouches. Technique is typicall "camp technique" and something you would probably never use in a match. Been there twice as a wrestler and held my own which speaks volume to the quality of the camp. The month long camp would probably be a great value with everything included in that month. So there is my top 5. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this, esp Mpire who I know has taken his boy's to hunderds of camps over the years.

Slow ride- you are quite the jerk! I forgot we have a new tough guy on the blocks. Instead of ridiculing another for their post how bout you be the bigger man and respect their opinion and keep your jack ass comments to yourself.

    Ranger Preseason Rankings - April 26 2013

Just because you go to three Jeff Jordan camps, which is over kill I think, doesn't make you a top ten wrestler. It's great he is wrestling that much over the summer. But Jordan's has become really watered down over the years during the summer. I remember going there and it's being a meat grinder. Dustin Schlatter, Cameron Doggett, Lance Palmer, Colton Palmer (NC) Aaron Hart, Mike Gray, Mike DiSolvo (Sp?) and one of the Pepplemans, were in my group of 18 kids. To say I was out of my league was an understatement at best!

The Middle School List - Preseason 2013/2014

Antonio McCloud from Holmes should be on the list in the upper weights. Really good kid and a state qualifier. Holmes has some athletes on their team. They have really made great strides over the past three years.

Physcotic wrestler- you are making those at Scott look real bad. I know coach Graven really well, I competed against him in school and I know he would shake his had that somebody from his school would blast another for their opinion. Mr Graven is a class act and wouldn't be cool with the way you attacked a young man having fun with his own rankings. Remember rankings are worth as much as the paper they are on, or forum, in this case.

    Ranger Preseason Rankings - April 26 2013

Trevor Thompson will remain at 195. He made it easy last season and has been wrestling in the off season around 190 to 185. I think he is the front runner there too. He tech pinned miller from Scott twice and he has beat Darrious in the past. I think he brings home Conners first gold in 18 years. Derek Wiley will also more than likely be at 120 maybe higher. I'm hearing he is hitting a growth spurt and I think he gets pretty big if his dad is any indication. Those two are the only ones I'm really familiar with.
